Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, a former Chief of Staff to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Nwosu is a son in-law to the outgoing governor, Okorocha.
The former Chief of Staff polled 269, 524 to defeat eight other contestants.
Chairman of the Imo State APC governorship primaries, Brig. Gen.
Ibrahim Agbabiaka (rtd), who made the announcement of the result on
Sunday morning, said that all the nine aspirants contested in the
Nwosu closest rival was Chuks Ololo, who polled 6428 votes, while the Deputy Governor. Eze Madumere got 2, 646 votes.
